Participating cities

Since we first piloted the Texas Power Switch in the city of Fate in 2017, 20 additional cities have signed up. This number continues to grow, along with the number of registrants making the switch. In May 2022 we launched 'Texas Solar Switch'.

The idea is simple:
"The more cities who join our programs, the more people will register, the stronger we are to get a good deal from electricity providers and installers.”

Why cities should support a group buy program…

  • Help citizens save money – People can register for free and will receive a customized offer based on their personal details. Because we are part of a large group, the bidding providers/installers will offer significantly discounted rates.
  • Give the city image and economy a boost – 88% of the registrants think supporting a program contributes to the city’s positive image. Plus, money that’s saved by the residents stays in the local economy.
  • No financial risks involved – because registration is 100% free and without obligation, there’s no risk to the city or residents.

Don’t just take it from us – Find out what Farmers Branch thinks about the Power Switch.

In 2018 the City of Farmers Branch participated for the first time in the Texas Power Switch. They branded the program “The Farmers Branch Power Switch” to increase recognition and give the program a trustworthy and local character. Check out the video to learn more about the success of the program and why both the city council and the residents love participating.

Michael Kovacs, City Manager Fate

We're always looking for ways to make things easier for our residents.  By joining the Texas Power Switch, we've found a way to make it simple for our residents to save money on their energy bills - money that helps their family budget and stays in our community.  The process is simple.  iChoosr takes care of everything and there's no obligation for our residents to take the offer.

Stephanie Russell, City Manager Dickinson

Deregulation has been around for a long time, but a lot of our residents still aren't shopping around for lower rates.  This is mainly because they don't know who to trust or simply don't have the time. By partnering with iChoosr and the Texas Power Switch, the City of Dickinson is able to make it easy for our residents to switch and save on their monthly energy bills.
