We are looking for an experienced Director of Community Engagement with a focus on managing and expanding the relationships with our network of local governments.
We are a young, growing, international, privately owned company. Since our start in 2008 we have grown into an organization with over 120 colleagues who work across the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Poland, the US and Japan.
Our mission is to accelerate the energy transition. With a proven track record of over 140.000 residential rooftop solar installations (enough to shut down a serious coal fired power plant) and over 2,3 million consumers who we have helped to switch to a renewable energy contract, we are well positioned to create an even bigger impact. We expand our portfolio to other sustainable products like energy storage, heat pumps and housing insulation.
We organize group buying programs in collaboration with so called community leaders, organizations which are known and trusted by consumers, like local governments and not-for-profit organizations. By endorsing our programs, community leaders provide trust which helps to increase the number of participating consumers. Community leaders are interested to work with iChoosr as we can support them to achieve their sustainability objectives and help their residents/members.
Our group-buying programs are designed to benefit all stakeholders. The programs work by gathering a large group of consumers to create efficiencies for the solar and storage installers which they can pass on to consumers in the form of competitive pricing.
Five years ago, we started operations in Texas. We have organized 17 campaigns for residential renewable energy contracts under the Texas Power Switch brand. Last year we expanded to offer residential rooftop solar and storage in the Houston and Dallas area under the Solar Switch brand. This year we are expanding our solar activities to other states including Washington, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois and Colorado.
As Director of Community Engagement, you will be responsible for engaging with community leaders in the states in which we organise our solar group buying programs with the objective to build long term mutually beneficial relationships with them.
Below you will find the key responsibilities for this role:
As a key part of our US team, you will work closely with the Country Manager US, with the, with your colleague Director of Community Engagement, with the Business Manager for US Solar, with the Director of Installer Partnerships, and with the US Solar operations team.
As a team you deliver the solar programs and work to continuously improve them.
The Director of Community Engagement is primarily an outward facing role and you will need to invest time visiting community leaders in the states in which iChoosr is active or planning to become active.
You will also seek to build relationships with other colleagues working on our solar projects in other countries (UK, Netherlands, Belgium and Japan) in order to share learnings and best practices.
If this role fits you, we would love to hear from you! Send us your cover letter and resume via jobs@ichoosr.com. If you have any questions, we are happy to arrange a vide
